제3기 정부초청 영어봉사 장학생 모집

TaLK PROGRAM (TEACH AND LEARN IN KOREA)

대한민국 교육과학기술부는 영어권 국가의 대학생을(재외동포 포함) 한국으로 초청하는 영어봉사장학생을 모집하고 있습니다. 장학생으로 선발되는 사람은 6개월 또는 1년 동안 한국에서 생활하면서 초등학생들을 가르치고, 한국어와 한국문화를 배울 수 있습니다.

■ 모집 인원 : 630명(샌프란시스코 공관 53명)

■ 지원 자격

l         영어권 국가의 시민권자 ※ 재외동포의 경우, 영주권자도 지원 가능

l         영어권 국가의 4년제 정규 대학에서 2년 이상 수료한 재학(졸업)생 또는 전문대 졸업(예정)자 ※ 재외동포의 경우 (전문)대학 1,2학년생도 지원 가능

■ 혜    택

l         장학생 활동비 지원 : 매월 150만원

l         왕복항공권 지급, 의료비지원, 숙소제공, 4주 오리엔테이션(무료)

l         한국문화체험기회, 한국어습득 기회 제공(희망자)

■ 활동 기간 : 6개월 : 2009년 8월~2010년 1월 /  1년 : 2009년 8월~2010년 7월

■ 지원 절차

l         웹사이트(www.talk.go.kr)에 접수 후, 샌프란시스코공관의 서류심사와 면접심사를 거쳐 TaLK Office (서울)에서 최종 심사 후 선발

■ 지원 서류

l         지원서, 재학하는 대학교에서 발급한 봉인 성적증명서(2부), 여권사본

l         추천서 2매, 학습지도안, 법범사실증명서 (Criminal Record Check) 등

■ 지원 기간 :  2009년 6월 10일

“ TEACH AND LEARN IN KOREA “

The Korean Ministry of Education, Science & Technology invites qualified undergraduate(graduate) students who teach and learn in Korea.

Selected scholars will receive Korean government scholarships and teach English in after-school classes of Korean elementary schools.

BENEFITS

l Scholarship of 1.5 million KRW per month(approximately $1,200)

l Personal  Accommodation or home-stay, Round-trip air ticket, Medical

insurance cover, etc

Eligibility

l Citizen of a country where English is the primary language

Ø         Ethnic Koreans with legal residencies are eligible

l An undergraduate student with two or more years of university education, or a college/university graduate

Ø         Ethnic Koreans who are in their 1^st or 2^nd year of college are eligible

Ø         Korean Fluency is not required

Required Documents

l A personal essay, Personal Medical Assessment, Two-sealed Recommendation Letters, Two sealed Transcripts, A sealed Criminal Record Check, A Copy of Passport Photo Page, etc.

CONTRACT TERM

l Six months : Aug, 2009~Jan, 2010   One-year : Aug, 2009~July, 2010
